About Yanni
I’m a queer clinician of color, and I offer an affirming, grounded, and deeply compassionate space for healing. With a strong foundation in somatic psychotherapy, I work collaboratively with my clients to support integration of the mind, body, and spirit—especially when navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and relational challenges. I believe deeply in each person’s inherent capacity for healing and transformation, and I honor the unique complexity that every individual brings into the room.
My practice embraces the richness of intersectional identities and is rooted in a commitment to liberation and belonging. I welcome people from all walks of life, and especially those who have been historically marginalized—BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ folks, and anyone impacted by systemic harm. At the heart of my work is a dedication to authenticity, connection, and the sacredness of your story. Together, we can co-create a therapeutic relationship built on curiosity, deep respect, and care.

FAQ
Curious about therapy sessions with Yanni? Here are some common questions answered to help you understand the process and benefits:
1
Benefits of Therapy
Therapy that integrates nervous system regulation and relational attunement offers a deeply transformative path toward healing. When we include the body in the therapeutic process, we begin to understand how past experiences have shaped our physiological responses—how we brace, shut down, or overextend in order to feel safe. By gently working with the nervous system, we create space for more ease, resilience, and presence in daily life. At the same time, the relational aspect of therapy—being met with empathy, curiosity, and consistency—can repair old attachment wounds and offer a new blueprint for connection. This kind of psychotherapy doesn’t just relieve symptoms; it invites a fuller, more integrated experience of being alive, where healing unfolds through both body and relationship.
2
Session Expectations
In our sessions together—whether individually or as a couple—you can expect a spacious, attuned environment where all parts of you are welcome. I bring a somatic, relational lens to the work, which means we’ll pay close attention not only to your thoughts and emotions, but also to the wisdom of your body. We’ll move at a pace that honors your nervous system, exploring how past experiences and relational patterns may live in your present-moment responses. For individuals, this might look like gently tracking sensations, identifying core beliefs, or building capacity for emotional regulation. For couples, sessions often involve slowing down reactive cycles, fostering deeper connection through embodied presence, and supporting each partner in feeling seen, heard, and understood. My intention is always to co-create a space of mutual respect, curiosity, and care—where meaningful change can take root and grow.
3
Duration of Therapy
Individual therapy is 50 minutes long, while couples is 60 minutes long.
4
Confidentiality Policy
Your privacy is deeply important to me. As a HIPAA-compliant therapist, I take great care in safeguarding your personal information and the content of our sessions. Everything you share is held in strict confidence, with a few legal and ethical exceptions that I will review with you during our free 20-minute consultation. This time is not only a chance to get to know each other, but also an opportunity for you to ask any questions about how your information is protected. I’m committed to creating a space where you feel safe, respected, and fully informed.
